In the Glass — Tasting Notes

Pomegranate and wild strawberry leap from the glass in this fresh, zesty rosé. The 100% Aglianico delivers vivid strawberry and cherry character layered with wild raspberry notes, underpinned by a mineral spine from volcanic slopes. At 11.5% ABV, it's refreshingly light yet structured; the fine, persistent perlage and aromatic palate reward another sip. This is restrained, elegant sparkling wine that bounces with acidity and refuses to cloy.

The Winery — Fantini

Founded in 1994 by Valentino Sciotti, the Fantini group set out to produce top-quality wine from Abruzzo; today the enterprise encompasses multiple estates across Italy and its islands, with acclaimed winemaker and consultant Alberto Antonini overseeing production to ensure varietal character and value shine through. The fruit for this cuvée comes from low-trained vineyards in the commune of Acerenza, in Basilicata, planted on the volcanic soils of Mount Vulture's slopes at up to 800 metres above sea level. Grapes are handpicked in the first week of September and gently crushed so the must macerates on the skins, extracting colour and flavour while retaining delicacy in the free-run juice. The rosé must is cold-settled and fermented cool, then undergoes a very slow, 60-day second fermentation in pressurised stainless steel tanks—the Charmant method—to preserve fresh aromatics whilst coaxing berry brightness from the normally brooding Aglianico grape. Vegan-friendly, this wine reflects Fantini's commitment to serious quality without pretension.

At Your Table — Food Pairing & Serving

Serve aperitif-cold with cured meats and aged cheese, pair it with light seafood pasta, or enjoy as a crowd-pleasing alternative to Prosecco. Its versatility makes it equally at home at Sunday lunch or celebration, an elegant aperitivo, or a relaxed weeknight pour. The combination of fresh fruit, acidity and mineral character pairs beautifully with salads, soft creamy cheese, and even chocolate-driven desserts.
