Who we are, how to reach us, and what to expect when you do. A person answers every message.
1Email us
Orders, delivery, returns and anything about a bottle: [email protected]
Privacy, data and account requests: [email protected]
We answer every email within one working day, Monday to Friday. If you are writing about an order, please include your order number — it is in your confirmation email and on your account page.
2Who you are buying from
SommPills is a trading name of SOMMPILLS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17430792.
Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom
We are an online-only wine merchant. There is no shop counter to visit: the registered office is an administrative address, not a shop or a collection point, so please do not send returns or post there without emailing us first.
VAT. SOMMPILLS LTD is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to your order and your invoice will not show a VAT amount.
3What we sell, and to whom
We sell wine to private individuals in the United Kingdom who are aged 18 or over, for their own use. We do not sell to businesses and not for resale. It is against the law to sell alcohol to anyone under 18, and we operate a Challenge 25 policy on delivery — an adult aged 18 or over must be present to receive the order and may be asked for photo ID.
Every wine is bought from established, licensed UK importers and distributors, and all stock is duty paid.
4Delivery and minimum order
Delivery within mainland Britain is free on every order. There is a minimum order of £200 of wine, measured before any case discount — so a single bottle cannot be ordered on its own. You choose your delivery day at checkout, from two working days after you order.
The full delivery terms, including remote postcodes and what happens if nobody is home, are in clause 6 of our Terms & Conditions.
5Returns and refunds
You may cancel within 14 days of receiving your order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and you then have 14 days to return the wine. Bottles must be unopened and sealed, in their original undamaged packaging. You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods. We refund within 14 days of receiving them back.
If a bottle arrives broken or faulty, email [email protected] with photographs of the packaging, the shipping label and every damaged bottle, taken at the moment of delivery. Nothing here affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
The full returns policy is in clauses 7 and 8 of our Terms & Conditions.
6If something goes wrong
Email [email protected] and put Complaintin the subject line. We acknowledge complaints within one working day and aim to resolve them within five. If we cannot put it right, you can raise the matter through the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform or your local Trading Standards service.
7How the shop is run
Our wines are chosen by sommeliers, and the shop is run day to day by the SommPills AI Merchant — an in-house AI that writes the tasting notes and the Wine Journal and answers questions in the chat. Everything it writes is signed. Customer service is always human: when you email us, a person reads it and replies. You can read more about how that works on the About page.
