In the Glass — Tasting Notes

This sparkling wine unfolds with vivid red apple and brioche on the nose, then reveals fresh strawberry and cherry opening into brioche, nougat and hazelnut depth on the palate. At 12% ABV with just 2.4g/L residual sugar, it's bone-dry and beautifully balanced—creamy mouthfeel without sweetness masking the fruit. The 24-month lees maturation in 19th-century cellars has built real texture, the kind of wine that tastes as good at the start of a meal as through to the last sip.

The Winery — Loimer

Fred Loimer owns 80 hectares around Langenlois in the Kamptal region of Lower Austria. After studying at Austria's renowned Klosterneuburg University and gaining experience in Germany's Nahe and California's Napa Valley, he took over the estate from his father in 1997. Unlike many Austrian producers who favour sweeter styles, Fred achieves full ripeness in the vineyard then ferments fully dry, allowing citrus zest, minerality and balance to shine. The blend—59% Zweigelt, 28% Pinot Noir, 13% St Laurent—draws from two terroirs: cool northerly breezes in Langenlois (400m altitude) preserve freshness and aromatic intensity, while warmer Pannonian currents rising into Gumpoldskirchen (200m) ensure complete ripeness. Since 2006, biodynamic viticulture has underpinned both sites, certified through Respekt-BIODYN, a community standard Fred helped found to implement and uphold biodynamics across European vineyards.

At Your Table — Food Pairing & Serving

Pair this wine with seafood, cured meats and charcuterie, or enjoy it as a celebratory aperitif. The hand-riddled, extended lees contact gives structure and creamy texture without any residual sugar to mask the fruit—it stands alone as brilliantly as it accompanies a meal from start to finish. Whether you're drawn to the freshness of northern European bubbles or seeking real depth beyond the fizz, Loimer's Brut Rosé Reserve delivers on both counts.
