Wine Profile
White - Green and FlintyVayots Dzor, Armenia

In the Glass — Tasting Notes

Golden-hued and stripped back to essentials. Lemon, pear and peach aromatics underscore a flinty minerality that lingers long after the glass empties. At 12.5% alcohol and braced by crisp acidity, this 50/50 blend of native Garandmak and Voskéat varieties drinks with the refreshing snap of high-altitude fruit—alive, clear-eyed, and entirely compelling. No richness here; pure clarity and cut.

The Winery — Zorah

Zorik Gharibian, born in Iran to Armenian parents, discovered his winemaking passion while building a fashion business in Italy. In 2006 he planted six hectares in Armenia's Yeghegnadzor Valley at 1,400–1,600 metres, where long dry summers and cool nights create the tension that defines balanced, characterful fruit. The ungrafted vines are a rarity—phylloxera has never reached these remote Caucasian slopes. Hand-picked fruit underwent natural-yeast fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, then aged for 11 months in rough concrete before bottle maturation. The 2023 vintage saw mild winters, March snows, and consistent summer warmth into October, yielding bright acidity and clean expression. Nothing flashy; everything purposeful.

At Your Table — Food Pairing & Serving

Serve chilled without fuss alongside shellfish, fresh goat cheese, salads, white fish, or oily fish. This is equally at home as an aperitif when you want clarity over richness. One of the finest expressions in our Light & Crispy White Wine selection, Voskì is unambiguous proof that Armenia's winemaking legacy runs far deeper than history books suggest. A genuine original—neither over-oaked nor over-explained—that tastes like where it comes from. Vegetarian and vegan-friendly. Drink now through 2027.
