A pioneer of Dão's quality revival since the early 1990s, Quinta dos Carvalhais remains one of the region's finest estates. Winemaker Beatriz Cabral de Almeida champions the area's classic varieties through careful vineyard selection and hand harvesting. This blend draws from five Touriga Nacional-led varieties, each fermented separately for eight days before 75 per cent aged in used French oak for twelve months—enough to add texture while letting the fruit shine.
